Vacuum Care Schedule
Tell the builder your vacuum style, household size, pets, and flooring. It derives a maintenance schedule from the cadences our how-to guides verify, with the reasoning shown beside every task.
Your setup
Your care schedule
Empty the bin or swap the bag
After every useDebris left in a bin packs solid overnight and kills suction.
Rinse the washable filters
Every 2 monthsA clogged filter is the most common cause of fading suction.
Check and clear the brush roll
Every 2 monthsWrapped hair strains the belt and stops the bristles reaching the carpet base.
Deep clean the hoses, seals, and air path
Every 3 monthsHoses split and seals crack quietly, and every leak costs suction.
Give the machine a full checkover
Every 6 monthsBelts stretch and bristles wear down; a closer look catches both.
These are general intervals drawn from our how-to guides. Check your manual for your model's exact schedule.
How this works
The builder starts from the cadences our how-to guides verify: empty the bin after every use, rinse washable filters monthly in heavier homes and every 3 months in lighter ones, clear brush-roll hair weekly in pet homes, and deep clean the whole air path every 3 months.
Your answers then place your home on the use spectrum. A large household, pets, or mostly carpet counts as heavy use and moves each task to the frequent end of its published range. A small household with hard floors and no pets is light use and lands on the sparse end. Robot vacuums add a weekly sensor and contact wipe, and small handhelds wash their filters monthly even in light use, because their suction fades fastest.
Nothing is stored and nothing is sent anywhere. The schedule rebuilds in your browser the moment you change an answer.
